The Australian Gas Association has served the Australian gas industry since 1925 as Australia’s membership gas industry association. Further, the association has been known as the AGA since 1962, when the National Gas Association and the Australian Gas Institute merged. There are many reasons why AGA was created. The most important include, the development of our gas Standards, approval of gas products and promotion of the gas industry. Indeed, given AGA’s roots and make up in being not-for-profit and membership based, AGA’s primary objective is “safety” and not “profit” driven. In line with AGA’s objectives for its establishment, AGA developed the AGA Showroom.
Some of the reasons for the Showroom include reaching out to the Australian community with clear safety messages as well as showcasing safe and certified gas appliances. As a start before purchasing or installing a gas appliance, always remember to look for the AGA Badge as shown below:
All gas appliances showcased on the AGA Showroom have passed the most comprehensive safety Standards. As a result, the Australian community can be assured to find the right and safe gas product for their needs. This includes AGA Certified domestic appliances such as gas cookers, gas water heaters, gas bbqs, camping and leisure gas products, gas heaters and more. In addition, the assessment of gas appliances includes energy star ratings where applicable. When AGA originally created the gas certification scheme in 1962, it was named the AGA gas approval scheme. Most importantly, the gas safety of appliances and their compliance is AGA's number one objective.
